Air Europa spreads its wings in Canaries

Celebrating Air Europa’s launch of services to Tenerife North at Gran Canaria Airport on 30 October were: Pablo Rodríguez, VP and Counsellor of Public Works and Transport;  Antonio Morales, President of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria; Juan José Hidalgo, President, Air Europa; Mercedes Roldós, Delegate of the Government in the Canary Islands; and Santiago Martínez-Cava, Gran Canaria Airport Director.

  • Air Europa commenced three new services from Gran Canaria (LPA) to Fuerteventura (FUE), Lanzarote (ACE) and Tenerife North (TFN) on 30 October. OAG schedules for the week commencing 31 October show that the 161-kilometre Gran Canaria-Fuerteventura sector will be served by 18 weekly frequencies, the 208-kilometre Lanzarote route will be served by 20 weekly flights and the 111-kilometre Gran Canaria-Tenerife North airport pair will be operated 46 times per week. Each of these short intra-island hops will be flown by Air Europa’s ATR 72s. The SkyTeam carrier will face direct competition from Binter Canarias and Canaryfly on all three routes.
