Air France adds service from Montpellier to North Africa

Montpellier Airport celebrated the launch of a new Air France route to Algiers on 30 October. To mark the occasion, a special two-tiered cake was produced featuring the Algerian flag. Air France will serve the new airport pair twice-weekly and will compete with incumbent carrier Air Algérie.
- Air France began services from Montpellier (MPL) to Algiers (ALG) on 30 October. The 769-kilometre sector will be served twice-weekly (Mondays and Saturdays) using the French national carrier’s A319s and A320s. Air France faces direct competition on this sector in the form of Air Algérie, which also operates two flights per week.
