TAP Portugal this week celebrated the launch of services between Lisbon and Fez, with the inaugural crew posing with the aircraft that would operate the first flight – registered CS-DJD. The route becomes the carrier’s fourth destination in Morocco and will operate six times per week. On the same day the Star Alliance member also commenced services from the Portuguese capital to London City, a route which will be served 12 times weekly.
- TAP Portugal commenced services from Lisbon (LIS) to Fez (FEZ) and London City (LCY) on 29 October. The 655-kilometre Lisbon–Fez airport pair will be flown six times weekly on ATR 72-600s, while the 1,584-kilometre sector to London City will be served 12 times weekly on E190s. The London City service operates twice-daily on weekdays and daily over the weekend. Neither route faces direct competition, although it should be noted that TAP Portugal already offers multiple daily flights from Lisbon to London’s Heathrow and Gatwick airports.
