Frontier Airlines cha-chas into Charleston

Frontier Airlines Charleston

Seen at the launch of Frontier Airlines’ new services to Charleston from Philadelphia and Denver are James Peacher, Deputy Executive Director & COO of Charleston Airport and Eric Engel, Sales Manager at Frontier Airlines. The airline will operate both routes from Charleston three times weekly using its fleet of A320s.

  • Frontier Airlines has introduced Charleston (CHS) to its network, connecting to the South Carolina airport from Philadelphia (PHL) and Denver (DEN). Both routes, which were inaugurated on 20 February, will be flown three times weekly using A320s. Looking at schedules published by OAG, the aircraft arrives from Philadelphia at 07:53 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. It then departs for Denver from Charleston at 08:43, landing into the Colorado hub at 10:33. The return leg leaves Denver at approximately 15:19, suggesting an aircraft swap between Denver and Philadelphia bases on this rotation, landing into Charleston at 20:54. The return service to Philadelphia then leaves South Carolina at 21:44, touching down at 23:34. While the 2,327-kilometre link to Denver faces no direct competition, the shorter 885-kilometre jump from Philadelphia is already served by American Airlines three times daily on a mixture of its CRJ 200s and E175s according to OAG data.
