SmartWings initiates link from Israel to Tenerife

Tenerife South Airport welcomed the arrival of the first SmartWings service from Tel Aviv on 27 March. Celebrations included a ceremonial cake cutting and a fire truck water arch for the arriving 737 MAX 8. The carrier will operate the 4,923-kilometre airport pair weekly (Tuesdays) facing no direct competition.

There is no direct competition on the airport pair. SmartWings already serves Prague from Tel Aviv and intends to introduce a new twice-weekly link from the Israeli airport to Madrid on 26 April, with flights schedule to operate to the Spanish capital on Thursdays and Sundays.
