Munich Airport celebrated the inaugural Eurowings service to Las Vegas on 16 April. Cutting the specially baked cake to mark the occasion were Oliver Schmitt, VP Sales, Eurowings; Martin Laubenthal, Director Traffic Development, Munich Airport; and Jennifer D. Gavito, US Consul General. The German carrier will operate the route weekly in April before adding a second weekly flight in May.
- Eurowings began two new services in two days after commencing operations from Stuttgart (STR) to Palermo (PMO) on 15 April and from Munich (MUC) to Las Vegas (LAS) on 16 April. The German LCC will operate the 1,209-kilometre European link with A319s and the 9,254-kilometre transatlantic sector with A330-200s. Both routes will initially be served by a weekly flight with Stuttgart-Palermo operating on Sundays and Munich-Las Vegas on Mondays, although the latter will see a second weekly frequency added on Thursdays in May. The carrier will not face any direct competition on either route.
