Among the celebrations to take place at Delhi Airport to commemorate the arrival of Ukraine International Airlines’ first service from Kiev Boryspil was a lamp lighting ceremony. Among those present at the occasion were: Abhijnan Sengupta, Associate GM, Airline Marketing and Route Development, Delhi Airport; Subhash Goel, Chairman Stic Travel Group; Dr. Igor Polikha, Ambassador of Ukraine to India; Simon Bundle, VP Industry & International Affairs, Ukraine International Airlines; Tansu Cigeroglu, Marketing Head, Celebi Ground Handling India; and Andy Diaz, Head Operations, Celebi Ground Handling Delhi. The 4,545-kilometre route will be flown three times weekly.
- Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) introduced the Indian capital of Delhi (DEL) to its network on 1 May, inaugurating a three times weekly service from Kiev Boryspil (KBP). The European carrier will connect the two capital cities using its fleet of 767-300s, with the 4,545-kilometre route presently not flown by another airline.
