Among those present at the occasion were: Abhijnan Sengupta, Associate GM, Airline Marketing and Route Development, Delhi Airport; Subhash Goel, Chairman Stic Travel Group; Dr. Igor Polikha, Ambassador of Ukraine to India; Simon Bundle, VP Industry & International Affairs, Ukraine International Airlines; Tansu Cigeroglu, Marketing Head, Celebi Ground Handling India; and Andy Diaz, Head Operations, Celebi Ground Handling Delhi. The 4,545-kilometre route will be flown three times weekly.

  • Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) introduced the Indian capital of Delhi (DEL) to its network on 1 May, inaugurating a three times weekly service from Kiev Boryspil (KBP). The European carrier will connect the two capital cities using its fleet of 767-300s, with the 4,545-kilometre route presently not flown by another airline. Along with Delhi, UIA also serves the Asian cities of Almaty, Astana, Bangkok, Beijing and Colombo. The carrier also serves multiple destinations in the Middle East. See how Delhi Airport’s FTWA compares to others from around the world.

UIA first must look into strengthening their operations, ethics and professionalism. Within the same month of launching their direct Delhi-Kiev flight, they have cancelled the flight scheduled for 23rd May without giving and reasons and stranded 230 passengers with little or no assistance. they did not offer any alternate flights and forced passengers to either cancel the tickets or take next flight on 26th May!! No apology, no compensation what so ever given or acknowledged
