Milan Bergamo celebrated becoming the only European destination in Air Arabia Egypt’s network when the carrier launched services from Borg el Arab on 4 May. Cutting the cake to welcome the arrival are: Giacomo Cattaneo, Director of Commercial Aviation, SACBO; Laila Mechbal, CEO, Air Arabia Maroc; Emilio Bellingardi, General Director, SACBO – Milan Bergamo Airport; Adel Abdullah Ali, Group CEO, Air Arabia; and Gamal Abdel Nasser, Air Arabia Egypt CEO.
- Air Arabia Egypt began flights from Borg el Arab (HBE) to Milan Bergamo (BGY) on 4 May. It will operate the 2,380-kilometre sector twice-weekly (Fridays and Sundays) with its A320s and faces no direct competition. “It’s a great moment to welcome Air Arabia Egypt to our airport. We’ve worked closely with the carrier to open a direct link to Borg Al Arab and, alongside Air Arabia Maroc’s service to Morocco, the airline group as a whole will offer 70,000 two-way seats from our gateway this summer,” said Giacomo Cattaneo, Director of Commercial Aviation, SACBO. “To be able to offer the vast Egyptian community in Milan and Northern Italy an alternative to existing flights to Egypt we’re hopeful, given the high demand, that it won’t be long before there will be further announcements with the carriers.” See how Milan Bergamo Airport’s FTWA compares to others from around the world.
