SCAT Airlines launches Lithuanian link

Vilnius Airport welcomed SCAT Airlines first services from Astana on 27 May. Performing the ceremonial ribbon cutting duties was Aurimas Stikliunas, Head of Aviation Services, Lithuanian Airports. The new 3,069-kilometre connection will be operated twice-weekly with 737-300s, with no other airline presently serving the route.

  • SCAT Airlines launched flights on its new capital city connection between Astana (TSE) in Kazakhstan and Vilnius (VNO) in Lithuania on 27 May. The 3,069-kilometre route will be flown twice-weekly on Thursdays and Sundays. Flights be will be operated by the carrier’s 737-300s, with the route not planned to face any direct competition. This becomes SCAT Airlines’ only scheduled service to Vilnius, while Astana now becomes the most easterly destination served from Vilnius.
