What is your training regime? “Depending on the time of the year and the workload, I would run roughly 20k (not miles) per week.”

Have you ever run on a runway before? “No, the bud:runway run will be my first.”

Do you always take your running shoes when you fly? “Most of the times yes.”

What are your best races? “I have done a 10k in 40 minutes last year and a half-marathon in 1:42 this year; both of the runs were in and around Frankfurt.”

Jonathan Pollard, CCO, London Luton Airport

Are you a fanatically competitive or a recreational/keep fit runner? “Try to run at least once a week, mainly to just keep in some sort of shape.”

What is your training regime? “Wednesday evening 5k, then occasional at weekends if I can escape a house with 2 small children..!”

Have you ever run on a runway before? “I’ve never run 10k and I’ve certainly never run 10k on a runway either.”

Do you always take your running shoes when you fly? “I’ve started to, definitely a good way to explore new places and unwind when travelling.”

What are your best races? “This will be my first race – just completing it will be my target though.”

What is your favourite domestic pet? “I don’t have one currently, but would like to get a Labrador once the kids get older.”

What is your favourite take-away? “Indian, very closely followed by Chinese.”

Describe your most exciting moment at the airport. “I think at the moment it has to be seeing all of the new shops and catering outlets opening up in the terminal – over a short space of time the place has been transformed, great for us and the passengers too.”

Will this be your first time in Budapest and do you have any touristic plans? “I’ve been before a few times – if I get chance on the Saturday I might try and take the funicular up Castle Hill, though that might lose out to resting the legs and having a beer overlooking the Danube!”
