- Alaska Airlines has become the third operator to offer non-stop flights between San Jose (SJC) and New York JFK (JFK), with it joining Delta Air Lines and JetBlue Airways on the US domestic airport pair. Like the competition, it will offer a daily service on the 4,123-kilometre sector, with it scheduled to serve the route using its fleet of A320s. By offering a morning departure from San Jose, Alaska Airlines will be the only carrier to offer a same-day arrival into the Big Apple airport from the Californian city. Flights depart at 07:05, landing into JFK at 15:43. This compares to departure times of 22:04 for JetBlue and 22:35 for Delta, resulting in next-day arrivals at the US East Coast hub. Along with this service, Alaska Airlines already serves New York Newark from San Jose with six weekly rotations, while United Airlines also provides a daily rotation between its Newark hub and the Californian airport when referencing OAG schedules.
