- LATAM Airlines launched flights between Fortaleza (FOR) and Orlando (MCO) on 5 July. The oneworld member will serve the 5,802-kilometre sector between the South and North American cities twice-weekly (Thursdays and Saturdays), with the airline scheduled to use its 767-300s on the route. No other airline presently operates flights between the two cities, however competition will be in place from 4 November, the day on which GOL inaugurates a daily 737 MAX 8-operated service on the route. With this launch, LATAM now serves two US cities from Fortaleza, with it already offering a three times weekly rotation to Miami when referencing OAG schedules. Fortaleza becomes the third Brazilian city that the airline links with Orlando, already having a daily service from Sao Paulo Guarulhos, and a five times weekly link from Rio de Janeiro Galeao to the Floridian city.
