Constanta Airport baked a cake to mark the return of national carrier TAROM on 3 July. The airline launched twice-weekly (Tuesdays and Fridays) flights from Satu Mare, ending an eight-year hiatus of services for the carrier at the coastal airport. - TAROM returned to Constanta (CND) on 3 July, ending an eight-year hiatus for the carrier at the Romanian coastal airport. Having last flown to the city in 2010 with flights from Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca, the carrier in S18 will offer a twice-weekly (Tuesdays and Fridays) service from Satu Mare (SUJ), a 570-kilometre seasonal domestic service that it will operate until 14 September. Flights will leave Satu Mare at 09:00, landing in Constanta at 10:40. Return services then depart at 11:05, returning back in Satu Mare at 12:45. OAG schedules indicate that the route will be operated on Bucharest-based ATR 42-500s, while no other airline presently links Satu Mare and Constanta. With the arrival of TAROM, Constanta Airport is now served by five scheduled carriers, with Blue Air having a seasonal base at the facility, while Wizz Air serves the airport from London Luton, Turkish Airlines from Istanbul Atatürk, plus Nordica from Tallinn.
