Airline and Clark Airport officials along with the inaugural flight crew celebrate as Philippines AirAsia launch its new service between Clark and Taipei Taoyuan on 12 July. The three times weekly route will be operated year round by the LCC’s A320 fleet.
- Philippines AirAsia commenced operations on 12 July between Clark (CRK) and Taipei Taoyuan (TPE), utilising its core A320 fleet. The 1,099-kilometre route is set to operate year round, and there are currently no competitors on the route according to OAG data. On Thursdays, the service departs Clark at 17:25, arriving in Taipei at 19:30, with the return leg departing Taiwan’s capital at 19:55 and landing at 22:00. On Tuesdays and Saturdays, the flight operates 25 minutes later, leaving Clark at 17:55 and landing at 20:00, before departing Taipei at 20:25 and touching down in Clark at 22:30 according to OAG schedules data. The AirAsia Group has rapidly expanded since it was founded by Tony Fernandes in 2001, now serving 135 routes in 25 markets, with a fleet of 242 aircraft including 212 A320s and 30 A330-300s, according to the LCC’s website.
