Cambodia Airways Phnom Penh to Siem Reap and Sihanoukville

- Cambodia Airways, a Phnom Penh (PNH) based start-up carrier, obtained its Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) this week and commenced operations to Siem Reap (REP) on 10 July and Sihanoukville (KOS) on 14 July. The former sector will have daily services, with the latter having six rotations per week. Both will be operated using 150-seat A319s. According to OAG schedules data, five competitors already operate the 235-kilometre Phnom Penh – Siem Reap route: Cambodia Angkor Air with 22 weekly frequencies; JC Cambodia International Airlines (eight); Bassaka Air (daily); Lanmei Airlines (daily) and KC International Airlines (three). Meanwhile, there is one incumbent carrier on the 169-kilometre Sihanoukville route; Bayon Airlines with a daily service. Both routes are set to operate until the end of October, however there is no published information beyond this date indicating a continuation of service or otherwise.
