SAS launched a new link from Copenhagen to Hong Kong on 28 October. The 8,647-kilometre connection will be served five times weekly. There was a special event to celebrate the upcoming launch in the SAS Gold lounge at Copenhagen Airport on 24 October, where SAS Deputy CEO and COO, Lars Sandahl Sørensenevent spoke to the audience.
- SAS has commenced services on two new routes in the past week, beginning flights from Gothenburg (GOT) to Berlin Tegel (TXL) on 26 Ocotber, and launching operations from Copenhagen (CPH) to Hong Kong (HKG) on 28 October. The 570-kilometre intra-European connection will be flown four times weekly on the carrier’s fleet of A320s and 737s, and will face direct competiton from easyJet, which already offers daily services. The 8,647-kilometre link from Copenhagen to Hong Kong will operate five times weekly on A340-300s. There is no competition on this sector, which will be SAS’ only connection to Hong Kong in W18/19.
