Air Malta introduced two new German destinations to its network on 31 October, when it began services to Hamburg and Leipzig/Halle. Both routes will operate weekly on Wednesdays. The Maltese carrier now offers flights to six destinations in Germany, having begun service to Berlin Tegel on 28 October.
- Air Malta launched two new German links on 31 October, with inaugural flights taking off from Malta (MLA) to Hamburg (HAM) and Leipzig/Halle (LEJ). Both routes will operate weekly on Wednesdays. The 2,004-kilometre Hamburg service and the 1,738-kilometre link to Leipzig/Halle will both be operated by the airline’s A320s and neither will face direct competition. These routes become Air Malta’s fifth and sixth scheduled services to Germany respectively. The Maltese flag carrier commenced services to Berlin Tegel on 28 October, and was already operating flights to Düsseldorf, Frankfurt and Munich.
