Ethiopian Airlines launched a three times weekly service between Addis Ababa and Mogadishu in Somalia on 9 November, with a cake representing the flags of the two nations being made to celebrate the new service.

  • Ethiopian Airlines launched operations between Addis Ababa (ADD) and Mogadishu (MGQ) on 9 November, its newest node in Africa. The Star Alliance member will operate the 1,057-kilometre sector three times weekly using its Q400s, however Flightradar24.com data shows that the first three flights were operated by the airline’s 737-800s. No other airline presently flies between Addis Ababa and Mogadishu according to OAG schedules.
