Amsterdam Airport welcomed the first A350-1000 flight by Cathay Pacific Airways on 1 December, with the carrier now regularly using it and the A350-900 on its daily rotation from Hong Kong. It is currently the only carrier to use the aircraft type to/from Amsterdam. As part of the celebration, the European hub baked a cake to mark the occasion. Ryanair celebrated the milestone of carrying its 30 millionth passenger from its Malaga base on 4 December. The carrier presently operates 60 routes from the airport on either a seasonal or year-round basis according to the airline’s booking engine, with new services to Berlin Tegel, Glasgow and London Southend scheduled for 2019.
