Düsseldorf welcomed the arrival of Laudamotion’s first service from Innsbruck on 8 December. Joining the inaugural flight crew to mark the occasion was Florian Bongard, Manager Airline Marketing, Düsseldorf Airport. Flights will operate twice-weekly on Saturdays and Sundays until 30 March, coinciding with the peak ski season.
- Laudamotion launched three new services from Innsbruck (INN) in the past week to tie-in with the start of the peak ski season, with the carrier commencing flights from the Austrian airport to Dublin (DUB), and Düsseldorf (DUS) on 8 December, plus a link to London Stansted (STN) on 9 December. The 1,418-kilometre connection to Ireland and the 950-kilometre link to London will both be operated weekly, with Dublin flown on Saturdays and Stansted Sundays. The 557-kilometre route to Düsseldorf will operate twice-weekly on Saturdays and Sundays. All three routes will be operated by A320s, although some of the Düsseldorf sectors may be flown using 737-800s. None of the three routes currently face direct competition, although TUI Airways will begin flying between Stansted and Innsbruck weekly from 22 December. All three of Laudamotion’s new routes are seasonal and will operate into late March. These are the only three routes the LCC will operate from Innsbruck in W18/19, according to OAG schedules.
