Among those cutting the ribbon in Gdansk, officially opening SWISS’ new connection between Zurich and the Polish airport, are: Tomasz Kloskowski, CEO, Gdansk Airport; Frank Wagner, GM Sales Poland, Lufthansa Group; Katarzyna Gruszecka-Spychała, VP Economy, Gdynia; Peter Pullem, Head of Sales, Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe, Lufthansa Group; Ryszard Świlski, Member of the Board, Pomeranian Voivodeship; Piotr Borawski, Deputy Mayor of Gdansk. The airline will operate four weekly flights between Zurich and Gdansk facing no direct competition.
- SWISS launched flights between Zurich (ZRH) and Gdansk (GDN) on 1 April, with the Star Alliance member introducing a four times weekly service on the 1,036-kilometre airport pair. It will serve the route using its mixed fleet of single-aisle aircraft when referencing OAG Schedules Analyser data, with the inaugural flight being flown on an A220-300. No other airline presently links the two airports. With this launch, the carrier now serves four destinations in Poland from Zurich, with it offering Krakow, Warsaw Chopin and Wroclaw services this summer along with its new Gdansk services.
