Airbus signs up as main title sponsor for the Budapest Airport-anna.aero Runway Run for fifth year running!
anna.aero and Budapest Airport are massively honoured to announce that Airbus has once again stepped up as the main title sponsor for this year’s leading sporting charity event for the global aviation industry. In a huge step of recognition for the importance of the Budapest Airport-anna.aero Runway Run, the global manufacturer will support the event’s aim to bring together airlines, airports and the aviation community in a great sporting moment, while raising money for extremely worthy causes.
Since the beginnings of the Runway Run, a host of major Airbus users have been embedded in the event, including three-times winner Aer Lingus, along with Wizz Air, Emirates, Qatar Airways, Etihad Airways, Vueling, SWISS etc, etc. With Airbus’ backing and sponsorship, the event sends a message that anna.aero and Budapest Airport continue to be serious about bringing the world’s aviation community together, at one single sporting event for the benefit of closely-held charities.
All Airbus-sponsored Budapest Airport-anna.aero Runway Run entry fees – just €35 before 1 July – are entirely donated to international child cancer causes and a Hungarian charity assisting the inclusiveness of handicapped people in sports. Besides air transport industry trophies, every finisher receives the “The Bron’s Medal”, named for Brontë “Bron” Hogan, the anna.aero publisher’s 12-year-old daughter, who passed away in 2011 after a five-year battle with leukaemia.
The runway run consists of two race distances – 10km and 5km. Runners can take part on an individual basis, or form teams of three or more (only the fastest three runners’ times count towards the team times.)
