- Finnair launched its latest connection from Helsinki (HEL) on 30 April. It has started a five times weekly service to Hannover (HAJ), recent host of Routes Europe 2019. Flown using E190s, the carrier will increase the frequency on the 1,279-kilometre sector to daily from 1 June. “The flights by Finnair to Helsinki generate many new connections to Asia, US and Canada. The options these flights give are great for tourism traffic, plus they are attractive options for business travellers, helping strengthen the business location of Lower Saxony,” commented Raoul Hille, MD, Hannover Airport. Finnair is the only operator flying between Helsinki and Hannover. With the launch of this route, the Helsinki-based operator now serves seven airports in Germany. Its other destinations in Germany are Berlin Tegel, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Munich and Stuttgart.
