Air Busan connects Daegu and Busan to Kota Kinabalu

  • Air Busan launched flights from Daegu (TAE) to Kota Kinabalu (BKI) on 15 May. The carrier will serve the 3,568-kilometre route four times a week using its fleet of A321s. According to OAG Schedules Analyser no other carrier currently serves the city pair, despite it growing in popularity. Air Busan’s general manager for Kota Kinabalu, Jung Sang-bong, commented  “Koreans love coming to Sabah and more than half of them choose the state as their favourite destination.” In addition to this route the airline also launched flights from Busan (PUS) to Kota Kinabalu (BKI) on 22 May. Covering the 3,505-kilometre sector, the airline will utilise an A320 aircraft and will face direct competition from Eastar Jet which offers a 7 times weekly service.
