Lufthansa lands two new connections from Munich

The crew of Lufthansa’s inaugural service between Munich and Biarritz celebrate Biarritz’s surfing heritage by their Bombardier CRJ 900 aircraft. The German flag carrier also this week launched a year-round service to Rijeka from its Munich hub.

  • Lufthansa on 25th May launched weekly seasonal services between its Munich (MUC) hub and Biarritz (BIQ), alongside a year-round flight from the Bavarian city to Rijeka (RJK). Both routes will be operated by 90-seat CRJ-900 aircraft on Saturdays, with the 1,160-kilometre Munich to Biarritz leg departing at 17:00, arriving in Biarritz at 19:05. The return leg leaves the Basque coastal city at 19:45, touching down back in Munich at 21:45. According to OAG Schedules Analyser, no other carrier currently serves the seasonal route, which is set to run until 05 October. The 407-kilometre Munich to Rijeka service leaves the German hub at 17:50, arriving in Rijeka at 18:55, before departing the Croatian city at 19:30 and landing back in Munich at 20:40. Currently, fellow Lufthansa Group carrier Croatia Airlines serves the route thrice weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays with a 76-seat Q400.
