Swoop soars with four new services

Swoop staff bring piggy banks to the Canadian Ultra Low Cost Carrier’s route launches from London Ontario and Winnipeg this week, as part of the brand’s focus on more price-conscious consumers in a traditionally high-fare Canadian market. Flights to Abbotsford and Halifax were launched from London, whilst Winnipeg saw services commence to Abbotsford and Kelowna.

  • Swoop has commenced four new seasonal services on 24th May, operating until 25 October. Westjet’s ultra low cost carrier launched a daily 3,206-kilometre flight from London Ontario (YXU) to Abbotsford (YXX), as well as a 1,423-kilometre six times weekly service from the southwest Ontario city to Halifax (YHZ). In a statement of intent highlighting the company’s stamp on the fledgling Canadian ULCC market, the carrier also launched four times weekly services from Winnipeg (YWG) to Abbotsford (YXX) – a distance of 1,807 kilometres – and a three times weekly service on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between the Manitoba capital and Kelowna (YLW). According to OAG Schedules Analyser, none of the four routes are currently served by a competitor.
