Wizz Air launches three new routes in Europe

  • Wizz Air has introduced three new routes to its network as part of its S19 schedule. The first route launched was between Kiev Zhulyany (IEV) to the city of Thessaloniki (SKG) on 20 May. The route will utilise a fleet of A320 aircraft to operate the 1,241-kilometre sector twice-weekly and will face no competion. The second route as part of the airlines S19 expansion in Greece will be between Kiev Zhulyany (IEV) to the Greek capital of Athens (ATH) which launched on 20 May. According to OAG Schedules Analyser the route will also operate twice-weekly using an A320 aircraft to cover the 1,477-kilometre sector distance, but will face direct competition from Jonika Airlines with three weekly flights. The last of the routes will be between Gdańsk (GDN) to the Norwegian city of Bodø (BOO). The route which was launched on 22 May will cover the 1,450-kilometre sector utilising an A320 twice-weekly (Wednesdays and Sundays) and will not face direct competition from any other operators.
