Passengers gather for the festivities at the launch of S7 Airlines’ four times weekly service between the Siberian city of Irkutsk and St Petersburg. The carrier has expanded significantly at St Petersburg in summer 2019, with 13 domestic and eight international destinations being served from the Baltic port city.

• S7 Airlines on 25th May commenced direct flights between Irkutsk (IKT) and St Petersburg (LED). The 4,429-kilometre seasonal route will be operated on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays until 19 October by the oneworld carrier’s 164-seat A320neo aircraft. According to OAG Schedules Analyser, S7 Airlines is the sole operator on the route. This comes as the airline expands its operation significantly at St Petersburg, with six new routes from the airport in S19 and a 14% increase in passengers served in Q1 2019 compared to the same period in 2018.
