easyJet wins with Bristol-Montpellier Arch of Triumph

The beginning of June marks fantastic weather and new route launches being baptised. anna.aero’s esteemed judges return to consider four fantastic Fire Truck Water Arch salutes for this week’s route launches. Keep monitoring.

easyJet Bristol to Montpellier 2nd June

This beautiful A320 aircraft is a clear winner for the judges at anna.aero. Thank you for a great entry.

Judges’ comments: The inaugural easyJet service between Bristol and Montpellier was an easy win for us when it climbed to the top of the leaderboard for this week’s FTWA. The fantastic new route was met with dusky skies and a red tender. It was only when we zoomed into the image that we noticed an airside vehicle was almost camouflaged. The image was caught at the perfect moment by the photographer as it made its move to taxi to the gate at Montpelier Airport and is an overall fantastic image.

LOT Polish Airlines Warsaw to Miami 2nd June

This new dreamy Dreamliner was welcomed to Miami this week.

Judges’ Comments: Despite the resolution of this image and the absence of the fire water tenders, the appearance of this dreamy Dreamliner on the tarmac was enough to turn heads as it made its inaugural flight into Miami. Although there was no symmetry or water salute visible, we can’t get our eyes off this beauty. As beautiful as this is, we at anna.aero are rating FTWA’s and we don’t feel that this image makes LOT Polish a strong contender.

Jonny: 7.0; Kerry: 7.0; Paul: 6.8; Nick: 7.1.

Ural Airlines Moscow Domodedovo to Montpellier 2nd June

Taxiing to stand after a short four hour flight is this Ural Airlines flight from Moscow Domodedovo.

Judges’ Comments: The perfect backdrop of clear blue skies and warm sunny weather gave this Ural Airlines FTWA a few extra marks from us. The symmetry and water arch also earns extra kudos points from the judges at anna.aero.

Jonny: 8.0; Kerry: 8.0; Paul: 7.7; Nick: 7.7.

airBaltic Tallinn to Brussels 3rd June

A wet welcome into the Belgian capital of Brussels!

Judges’ Comments: WOW! The aircraft livery of this airBaltic A320 got us really excited. Despite the image resolution and the fire tenders sneaking in to make only half an appearance on both sides, the sheer force of water makes this a good effort from the airport staff at Brussels. The angle of the image is great and is a good effort.

Jonny: 7.2; Kerry: 7.2; Paul: 7.5; Nick: 7.1.

We want to submit an Arch of Triumph photo of United Airlines’ launch of San Francisco service from John Glenn Columbus International Airport June 7. Please advise who to email it to at anna.aero. Thanks!
