Great Dane Airlines Aalborg to Edinburgh

Great Dane Airlines commenced its twice-weekly operation from Aalborg to Edinburgh on 27 June. The service to the Scottish capital is the Danish regional carrier’s only route to the UK. Jonathan Macneal, Head of Aviation Business Development, Edinburgh Airport is seen in this image with both Danish and Scottish flags.

  • Great Dane Airlines has launched twice-weekly (Mondays and Thursdays) services from Aalborg (AAL) to Edinburgh (EDI) on 27 June. According to OAG Schedules Analyser the route will be flown by the airline’s 118-seat ERJ-195 aircraft, covering a distance of 818 kilometres. Commenting on the carrier’s first ever route launch was Søren Svendsen, CEO, Aalborg Airport: “From Aalborg Airport’s point of view, Great Dane Airlines has located an unfulfilled market potential for both leisure and business traffic – in terms of a medium aircraft capacity, which match the demand for a direct route to Edinburgh”.
