Kuwait Airways lands in Baku

Kuwait Airways launched a twice weekly service to from its hub in Kuwait City to the Azerbaijan capital of Baku on 01 August. A fire truck water arch salute was given to the aircraft as it made its way to a stand at Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku.
- Kuwait Airways commenced direct operations between its Kuwait City (KWI) hub and Baku (GYD) on 01 August. The twice weekly service will compete with AZAL Airlines with two weekly flights and LCC Jazeera Airways with a four times weekly service. According to OAG Schedules Analyser the route will cover a distance of 1,263 kilometres and will utilise an A320.
