SpiceJet Mumbai to Riyadh
Dignitaries cut the ribbon on SpiceJet’s new Mumbai to Riyadh route. The Indian low cost carrier is the third-largest airline at Mumbai in S19, with over 2.2 million departing seats, as well as being the first LCC to operate on the city pair.
- SpiceJet commenced daily operations between Mumbai (BOM) and Riyadh (RUH) on 15 August. The 2,770-kilometre route is operated by a Boeing 737-800, and is also served daily by Air India and five times weekly by Saudia. SpiceJet indicated that its service would allow better connections for Indians living and working in Riyadh. The airport has been an increasingly attractive destination for low cost carriers in recent years – according to OAG, Saudi Arabian LCCs Flynas and flyadeal are the second and third-largest airlines respectively by seat capacity at Riyadh in 2019.
