James Pearson is new anna.aero Chief Analyst & Editor; meet him at Routes Adelaide

James Pearson: The academic, serial blogger, and real-life air transport executive, joins anna.aero from London Luton Airport where he worked on identifying and developing new routes: “Finding opportunities and seeing them happen is unbeatable.”

With a remit to “think the unthinkable” while carrying out a radical overhaul of anna.aero, Pearson joins the news and analysis site straight from London Luton Airport where he was Market Opportunity Analyst responsible for identifying and developing new route opportunities.

Of his experience at London Luton, Pearson (37) says “finding opportunities and seeing them happen is unbeatable.” Besides this real, hands-on route development industry experience, Pearson brings an extensive academic and analysis track record to anna.aero.

Stuff you should know about Pearson

  • Loughborough University: BSc Air Transport Management
  • Cranfield University: MSc Air Transport Management
  • Loughborough University: PhD, airline strategy – and winner of the Sir Robert Martin University Prize: “the premier award of the university”

Pearson in his own words

  • Obsessed with aviation for over 25 years, ever since my dad brought home the paper OAG flight guides (!)
  • When not working: looking after my two boys, one serious and one cheeky
  • Loves hiking, the seaside, castles, food, and has started to run – but is wondering why people do it for fun
  • Favourite thing ever: aerobatics
