GOL launches Florianópolis – Brasília

In respect of current environmental concerns on water scarcity due to the drought period in Brazil, Florianópolis decided to innovate using eight powerful light cannons for a Lightsaber-style salute.
GOL took off on 15 July from Florianópolis to Brazil’s capital city, Brasília. The 1,308-kilometre route is now operated three-times-weekly.
OAG Traffic Analyser indicates that over ~218,000 flew between the two cities last year, with a sizeable ~60,000 travelling indirectly.
LATAM Brasil is the leading operator on the airport-pair, with Avianca Brasil ending it last year following the carrier’s cessation.
