Routes Reconnected: Palm Springs’ record winter – 13 new routes and two new airlines
Palm Springs is to welcome 13 routes and two airlines before Christmas 2020.
“Winter 2020 is to be our greatest ever,” Tom Nolan, Palm Springs Airport’s CEO, told us.
The core reason for this is the focus by airlines – of all types – on chasing the leisure dollar.
“Palm Springs has it all – summer sun, lots to see and do, and minimal coronavirus cases,” Nolan added.
Southwest and Boutique Air will will begin in November, pushing Palm Springs’ airline total to 17, its highest ever.
Southwest will add routes to Denver, Oakland, and Phoenix, while Boutique Air will start Phoenix which will continue to Los Angeles.
Alongside these new carriers, Alaska Airlines is adding Boise, Reno, and San Jose (CA); Allegiant Boise and Eugene; American Philadelphia; Delta Los Angeles; and JetBlue Fort Lauderdale.
“Palm Springs passed three million seats for the first time in 2019,” concluded Nolan. “And our network is now stronger than ever.”
