Swiss to launch twice-weekly Billund-Zurich service

On 2 July 2021 the Toblerone will flow at Billund Airport as the inauguration of Swiss’ new flight to Zurich will take place. The route will initially be operated twice-weekly on Mondays and Fridays in July and August. However, the plan is of course to continuously work the market and hopefully extend the season, as well as increase the number of weekly frequencies.

“A direct route with Swiss to Zurich has been on the wish list at Billund Airport for many years and we are therefore naturally excited about this new connection,” says Jesper Klausholm, Head of Airline Relations and Marketing, Billund Airport. “While Switzerland for many years has been popular among Danish leisure travellers, I also expect to see the number of Swiss bed nights rise in West Denmark due to this new flight opportunity approaching to land directly splash in the middle of the original LEGOLAND.”

Billund Airport already has a good longstanding cooperation with the Lufthansa Group, as Lufthansa was pre-COVID-19 connecting Frankfurt and Billund five times daily.
