Iasi Airport wins Cake of the Week for new Lufthansa route to Frankfurt

Lufthansa’s Iasi to Frankfurt service

On 2 July 2021, Iasi Airport marked the first direct flight between Iasi and Frankfurt, operated by Lufthansa. The launch event for the new direct route included a ribbon-cutting, a fire truck water arch, and a spectacular cake, which won anna.aero’s prestigious Cake of the Week prize.

On 2 July 2021, Iasi Airport marked the first direct flight between Iasi and Frankfurt, operated by Lufthansa. The launch event for the new direct route was marked with a press conference attended by local authorities, airport administration and airline representatives, as well as representatives of the local cultural and business environment.

The guests in attendance performed a ribbon-cutting and cut the route launch cake, which won anna.aero’s prestigious Cake of the Week award. Meanwhile, the aircraft was welcomed with a beautiful water salute.

Flights are operated four times per week on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Iasi is the first airport in north-east Romania to have a direct flight to Frankfurt.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was performed by Costel Alexe, President of Iasi County Council; Vasile Stoicea, General Manager, Iasi Airport; and Zlatko Zlatic, General Manager Romania & Moldova, Lufthansa Group.
