Budapest Airport Runway Run 9.0: registrations rise and sponsorship support ramps up
Budapest Airport-anna.aero Runway Run’s main sponsor and partner Lufthansa Technik is joined by SITA, KPMG, and Z&Z as commitment to support the aviation charity event continues.
In just a few short weeks we’re set to welcome the 9th annual Budapest Airport-anna.aero Runway Run on Saturday 18 September. Competition will be fierce, with the Wizz Air home team racing to defend its title of ‘The Fastest Airline in the World’, and delegations recently confirmed from Qatar Airways and Norwegian.
Meanwhile, a strong team from duty free retailer Heinemann will be seeking to defend the title of ‘Fastest Airport Concessionaire Team’.
Entrants have the choice of taking part in one of two distances: the 5km run (two lengths of the runway) or for the budding athletes among you the 10km, four runway length run. Runners can participate on an individual basis, or form teams of three or more.

- Fastest male/female, 5/10k
- Fastest Airline Team: “The Fastest Airline in the World”
- Fastest Airport Team: “The Fastest Airport in the World”

Budapest Airport Runway Run ramps up sponsorship support
It’s a thrill for us to announce that, for the second year running, Lufthansa Technik has shown committed support and has confirmed it will once again be the main title sponsor and partner for the Budapest Airport-anna.aero Runway Run. Meanwhile, as registration numbers rise, we can also proudly announce SITA, KPMG and Z&Z will join the line-up of main sponsors and advocates for the aviation charity event of the year.
Alongside our main headline sponsors, the Budapest Airport-anna.aero Runway Run couldn’t go ahead without the following closely-held partners which include: Heinemann, SSP, Nutri8, Smarteq, Zax Chocolate, and Primavera.
Entry fees from the must-be-at aviation charity race are donated to Budapest Airport’s chosen beneficiary Suhanj! Foundation – a Hungarian association which aims to share the enjoyment of sports with those living with disabilities – while anna.aero proudly donates its share of the funds raised to Anthony Nolan, the UK-based bone marrow transplant charity.
We thank you, our good causes and the families thank you.
