Adelaide Airport has welcomed the launch of Qantas operations to Hobart in time for the school holidays period. The launch event at Adelaide Airport was attended by Allan Sommerville, Airport Manager at Qantas; the Qantas team in Adelaide Airport; Jonathan Cheong, Head of Aviation Business Development at Adelaide Airport; and Tiffany Truong, Aviation Business Development Analyst at Adelaide Airport.

The launch was celebrated with a large apple as the centrepiece of the cake, signifying Tasmania as being one of the world’s major apple producers. The themed cake also revolved around the experiences South Australia has to offer to visitors, such as wines. The cake is topped off with the iconic red tail of Qantas.

Qantas also recently introduced non-stop flights to Townsville and Cairns. “It is really exciting to celebrate these new services with Qantas which provide holiday-makers the options to head to Queensland (Townsville and Cairns) or Tasmania (Hobart) for the school holidays,” said Jonathan Cheong.
