Qatar Airways has launched a daily route between Doha and Düsseldorf, operated with the 787. The inaugural service was welcomed by Düsseldorf Airport with a traditional Fire Truck Water Arch.
Tampa International Airport has celebrated the inaugural Frontier Airlines service to St. Louis with a spectacular cake. The route is operated four times weekly. With the new service, Frontier serves a total of seven nonstop destinations from STL and 18 nonstop destinations from TPA.
Budapest Airport has announced another momentous re-enhancement in its route network development, with the return of Shanghai Airlines, in partnership with China Eastern Airlines. Relaunching a direct link between Budapest and Shanghai on 11 November, the two cities will initially be connected weekly on Fridays.
This week Cornwall Airport Newquay has announced another enhancement to its route network with Eastern Airways to launch a daily service between the Cornish gateway and East Midlands. The regional carrier will begin the connection on 10 February 2023, adding over 1,000 two-way weekly seats to the airport’s schedule next year.
EVA Air is serving Germany for the first time, with the launch of a four times weekly route from Taipei to Munich. Flights depart Munich on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, using the 787-9. The first flight was operated with a 777 with a special ‘Hello Kitty’ livery.
Leipzig/Halle Airport, well-known as a cargo hub, has welcomed two new Ryanair routes from London Stansted and Dublin. The service from Dublin is operated twice-weekly, on Wednesdays and Sundays, while the route from London Stansted is operated three times a week, on Mondays, Fridays and Sundays.
Prague Airport has this week celebrated two new routes. Wizz Air commenced a daily service between London Luton and Prague on 31 October. Meanwhile, Air Moldova launched a three times weekly service between Chisinau and Prague on 1 November.
Aer Lingus Regional, exclusively operated by Emerald Airlines, has commenced services from Aberdeen International Airport to Dublin. The route also connects seamlessly with Aer Lingus’ transatlantic network from Dublin.
airBaltic has launched new routes from Riga to Gran Canaria (commencing 1 November 2022) and to Marrakesh (commencing 31 October 2022). Both routes are operated twice-weekly with the A220-300.
China Airlines has returned to Vienna Airport with a three times weekly service to Taipei. The route is operated on Mondays, Tuesdays and Sundays with the A350. The connection was reopened at a special event at Vienna Airport.
AirAsia X has resumed its route between Kuala Lumpur and Melbourne. Following the recent return to Sydney and with the resumption of services to Melbourne and Perth this week, AirAsia X will reconnect a total of 24 weekly flights to three key destinations in Australia.
Continuing to witness a significant expansion of its route network, Cornwall Airport Newquay has announced that Ryanair will launch three new connections during next year’s summer schedule. Set to commence on 23 April 2023, the airline will connect the Cornish gateway to Dublin, London Stansted, and Malaga.
