Air Serbia has commenced direct flights on the new Kraljevo-Thessaloniki route. The seasonal service will be operated weekly, every Tuesday, in the period between 13 July and 24 August 2021. The inaugural flight was celebrated with a traditional Fire Truck Water Arch.
Lübeck Airport celebrated the first Lübeck Air flight to Salzburg on 3 July 2021 with a luxurious pure chocolate tarte, full of pralines. The new route connects two cities and regions with touristic treasures from the Alps to the Baltic Sea and Mozart to marzipan.
easyJet launched a new double-daily route from George Best Belfast City to London Gatwick on 9 July 2021. “We now have a portfolio of 26 destinations across the UK and Europe, which are served by a record number of airline partners in the airport’s history,” said Katy Best, Commercial Director, Belfast City Airport.
On 2 July 2021, Iasi Airport marked the first direct flight between Iasi and Frankfurt, operated by Lufthansa. The launch event for the new direct route included a ribbon-cutting, a fire truck water arch, and a spectacular cake, which won anna.aero’s prestigious Cake of the Week prize.
The newest Brazilian airline, ITA Transportes Aéreos, was welcomed with a party on 1 July 2021, in the capital of Bahia. At Salvador Bahia Airport, a member of the VINCI Airports network, the airline’s A320 was welcomed with a traditional water salute, winning anna.aero’s Arch of Triumph prize.
Egypt Air has restarted operations between Cairo and Düsseldorf, with its inaugural service on 2 July 2021. There are three weekly frequencies on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The flights are scheduled to serve the growing demand to Eastern Africa and the Middle East from Düsseldorf.
Budapest Airport has announced that its airline partner Transavia is committing to reopen links between the Hungarian capital and Paris for the coming winter season. Relaunching on 22 October 2021, the carrier will commence a twice-weekly service from the French capital on Fridays and Sundays.

A new service to popular UK holiday destination Newquay began from Belfast City Airport on 3 July 2021. Throughout the summer, flights will be operated by British Airways with up to six flights a week connecting passengers with Cornwall and the southwest of England.
Guadeloupe Pôle Caraïbes Airport welcomed a new airline from Santo Domingo – Sky High Aviation Services – on 4 July 2021. The carrier is operating three weekly frequencies, on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays, with a 50-seat Embraer 145, increasing connectivity between the two islands by 30%.
