Gold Coast Airport completes $260m terminal expansion
The final phase of Gold Coast Airport’s new $260 million terminal expansion has officially opened, with international passengers welcomed, completing the three-year project. The project is central to the ongoing transformation of the Gold Coast Airport precinct, with about $500 million worth of works delivered, underway or in the pipeline.

Qantas’ new Auckland-Gold Coast service wins Route of the Week
Qantas launched a daily Gold Coast-Auckland service on 19 April 2021 as trans-Tasman travel recommenced. It is Qantas’ first international service from Gold Coast Airport, and will deliver 63,000 seats annually and represent a regional economic impact of $50 million.
Rex Airlines’ Gold Coast services to Melbourne and Sydney win Route of the Week
Rex has launched two new routes from Gold Coast Airport to Melbourne and Sydney in time for the busy Easter period. Both services are operated twice-daily – the Melbourne route launching on 29 March and Sydney on 1 April.
