Düsseldorf Airport has welcomed a new airline – FLYONE. The carrier has launched a three times weekly route from Düsseldorf to Chișinău, operated with the A320. Competition on the route comes from Air Moldova, which operates a twice-weekly service.
Wizz Air today (8 Sept) announced its next expansion, with a big focus on domestic routes within Italy – the ULCC’s fourth most profitable country.
HiSky will initially operate six routes, including London and Paris. All but one route will see two to three competitors, including Wizz Air on four.
Air Moldova initiates services between Chisinau and Nice – its second French route.
Wizz Air adds a further 16 routes to its network, including multiple links from Chisinau and Debrecen.

Wizz Air confirmed on 5 July that it will base a second A320 in Chisinau and open routes to Brussels Charleroi, Copenhagen, Dortmund, Paris Beauvais and Memmingen. Jonathan Ford shows how the ULCC has developed from Chisinau in recent years and how its growth impacts Air Moldova’s market share.
