16 new routes launched across the world in the last week, mostly with low frequencies. But which airline added three new routes, both domestic and international, all with at least daily frequencies? Which low-cost carriers began serving two Asian cities’ capital cities? And which long-haul airline launched its second European route?

39 new routes were launched by 28 airlines in the last week. Although several new routes started in the Middle East, it is notable that none of them were launched by the ‘MEB3’ Gulf carriers. Over 60 new routes this week with a strong bias towards European LCCs. Cimber Sterling, easyJet, Jet2.com, Ryanair and Wizz Air all launched multiple routes. But AirAsia, Avianova, BA CityFlyer, Delta, Flydubai, Southwest, Spanair and Transaero among others all had reasons to celebrate this week.
