Quito gains new Madrid and Frankfurt links; traffic dropped 9.4% in 2016 to 4.9 million passengers; host city of Routes Americas 2018

Quito will play host to some 800 delegates in mid-February for the 11th annual Routes Americas conference. The capital of Ecuador is on a high at the moment with a second Madrid connection thanks to Air Europa, while Condor will add Frankfurt from Q3 2018. However, the ventures come after several years of decline.
