Eight US airports have won prizes in the 2013 US ANNIE Airport Awards, with Hawaiian airports wining three of the four ANNIE awards for traffic growth this year. New York JFK wins the prestigious “Airports With The Most New Airlines” award, and Los Angeles Airport takes the “The Most New International Routes” award.
Allegiant Air now serves Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Lansing, Michigan and Rochester, Minnesota.
Frontier Airlines now flies to Harrisburg, Allentown and Bloomington from Orlando, Florida.

This week’s super batch of new routes were dominated by US carriers starting new domestic services. But Air Canada, Kingfisher, Lufthansa, Ryanair, Transavia.com and Virgin Blue were among others with reason to celebrate this week. We have lots more amazing cake photos to celebrate.
This week sees another batch of new routes launched by airlines from all across the globe including AirTran, Alaska Airlines, Allegiant Air, Bahrain Air, Cebu Pacific, easyJet, Hainan Airlines, Insel Air, LACSA, Maldivian, Norwegian, TAM, Thai AirAsia, Tiger Airways and Volaris. Oh, and Ryanair started some new routes as well. What a surprise.
