After a long and in some places cold winter, the start of the northern hemisphere’s summer season is upon us. Nick Preston takes a look at the schedules for the first three weeks of S18, which reveal that 125 airlines will begin more than 500 new routes across 97 countries during this period.

Alaska Airlines is certainly a carrier expecting to take more from Seattle, with the airline confirming its first flights from Paine Field to an initial eight cities.
