The new route season is back on track. This week offers 42 route launches, half of which are on Ryanair. Nonetheless, we also have all you need to know about the routes that launched in North and South America, Europe, Africa, Middle East and Asia – and the pictures to go with it.
Over 60 new routes this week with a strong bias towards European LCCs. Cimber Sterling, easyJet, Jet2.com, Ryanair and Wizz Air all launched multiple routes. But AirAsia, Avianova, BA CityFlyer, Delta, Flydubai, Southwest, Spanair and Transaero among others all had reasons to celebrate this week.

The start of September sees increased activity on the new route front. Nearly 30 new routes from 18 airlines covering Africa, Australia, Europe, India, Middle East, New Zealand, South America and the USA. Something for everyone.
A brief lull this week before we have over 50 new routes starting next week. However, BA started a new route to India, easyJet launched four new routes including a domestic French route, and Transavia (a Dutch airline) started a whopping eight new routes from Copenhagen (in Denmark). Ah, the joys of EU liberalisation. Plus new routes from Mexicana, SriLankan and TUIfly.com. Ryanair took the week off but will be back with a bang next week!
