Domestic flights from Aberdeen to London Gatwick returned on 1 May 2021 with easyJet. The route increases direct connectivity between the North East of Scotland and London, joining easyJet’s existing route between Aberdeen and London Luton which is also due to restart in the coming months.

On 13 June Ryanair announced its plans to open a base at London Southend with three aircraft operating 13 routes from April 2019. Southend is already a base for easyJet.
