51 new routes were launched across the world in the last week, with Russian, German and Canadian airports represented the most. But which airport had 500 people celebrate the arrival of its first international passenger service? And in which country did three airlines launch domestic, regional services?

This has been a busy week for route launches. Out of 75 new routes, 25 are started by Ryanair which launched its new Malaga base. Still, we have information and photos from all the remaining 50 worldwide routes, ranging from CityJet’s short hop across the English Channel to Qatar Airways new South American service.
